Members of the American Trailer Manufacturers Coalition are urging the U.S. International Trade Commission to uphold its Feb. 6, 2026, affirmative preliminary injury determination on dumped and subsidized box trailer imports. A final affirmative finding would allow the U.S. Department of Commerce to impose antidumping and countervailing duties on imports from China, Canada and Mexico. The coalition says the import surge threatens more than 50,000 American jobs, while the industry directly supports nearly 10,000 positions and indirectly sustains approximately 50,000 related jobs nationwide. The duties could improve the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers but increase procurement costs for transportation and logistics companies that rely on imported trailers.
