Justin Sun, founder of the TRON blockchain project, has sued Chinese actress Jing Tian and her parents to recover approximately $4.5 million in disputed funds. The lawsuit was filed alongside a detailed personal essay Sun published on X, which received more than 33 million views within a single day. Sun recounted meeting Jing in Hong Kong, dating through late 2025, proposing marriage on a Maldives island in January, and transferring 30 million yuan to accounts belonging to her parents. The relationship later relocated to California, where Jing Tian checked into a Laguna Beach resort ahead of an egg retrieval procedure. According to Sun, she contacted him on the eighth day and demanded $50 million; he consulted Claude AI, was advised to refuse, and the relationship ended. The combined disputed amount now totals $54.5 million, including the original bride-price transfer. Sun wrote in the essay that he still wonders whether he would have stayed had he provided the funds.
