MoonPay has added Kamino Finance to PayBox, its AI-powered payment vault, so eligible users can supply tokens for yield, borrow against crypto collateral, and manage Solana lending positions through natural-language prompts in Claude or ChatGPT. The feature went live August 27 and was flagged by CoinMarketCap on August 28, 2026, during a strong week for Solana in which SOL traded at $109.46, up 8.3% in 24 hours and 24.1% over seven days. DeFiLlama data put Kamino at about $1.3 billion in total value locked and roughly $1 billion in active loans, making it Solana’s largest lending protocol by deposits. The integration does not create a new loan product; PayBox prepares transactions from chat instructions and users approve them before on-chain execution, replacing Kamino’s standard web interface. Users can choose an “Always Ask” passkey mode or an “Autonomous” setting within defined limits, both revocable at any time, while wallet keys stay protected by threshold cryptography and secure enclaves so neither the assistant nor MoonPay holds a full private key. Shared-pool markets still distribute borrower interest to suppliers with rates tied to utilization, and collateral that falls through Kamino’s liquidation threshold can be seized. CoinDesk has noted AI execution-error risk on live positions. PayBox launched in July with payments, swaps, bridging and Aave yield, and the Kamino link remains unavailable in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union and Australia.
