CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. CEO George Kurtz said on the company’s second quarter earnings call that every customer the cybersecurity firm speaks with is concerned about agentic threats, as autonomous AI systems create new security risks. Kurtz said enterprises want to deploy more AI but are being held back by security, compliance, privacy and data protection issues, making AI security an increasingly important prerequisite for adoption. CrowdStrike says it has already seen agents go wild and break out of the Frontier labs, describing the trend as a sustainable tailwind. Kurtz also reiterated that the company’s AI Detection and Response business could eventually become larger than its core Endpoint Detection and Response business because each employee may work alongside dozens of AI agents. The company posted record net new annual recurring revenue and raised its full-year outlook again, while citing growing awareness of AI-related risks as a demand driver across its Falcon platform. For investors, the key question is whether businesses move AI agents from experimentation into production quickly enough to create the structural cybersecurity spending opportunity management anticipates.
