Crypto market sentiment has shifted from prolonged fear into greed as Bitcoin rose above $80,000 and the Crypto Fear and Greed Index reached 68. The change was influenced in part by a White House meeting supporting crypto legislation, alongside broader digital-asset gains. The reading is materially below the previously reported level of 82, which had placed the gauge in extreme greed, indicating a revision or change in the latest measurement. The index combines market and behavioral indicators, including cryptocurrency price movements, volatility, derivatives data such as the put/call ratio, the stablecoin supply ratio and search trends. A reading in the greed zone reflects stronger risk appetite but is not a standalone timing signal, as similar optimism has preceded corrections as well as extended rallies.
