Gate has launched Japanese stock trading on its app after previously introducing the service on the Web, giving users access through both desktop and mobile platforms. The initial offering includes about 300 stocks listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, including Toyota Motor, Sony Group, SoftBank Group, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Nintendo and Tokyo Electron. Gate’s stock-trading services now cover four core markets: U.S., Hong Kong, South Korean and Japanese equities. The platform also supports Pre-IPOs, direct IPOs, gStocks tokenized stocks (digital representations of equity), fractional-share trading, stock dividends and transfers between brokers, using a unified stock account across Web and app. Lucas Sum, Gate’s head of stock market development, said during Coinfest Asia 2026 that investor demand is expanding beyond single-asset cryptocurrency trading toward diversified exposure to stocks, ETFs and digital assets, shifting competition among platforms toward cross-market and multi-asset capabilities as well as trading volume.
