Zhang Xiaoquan shares surged 11.68% to 32.99 yuan at the August 28 open after a nail clipper poster using the company logo went viral on social media, briefly pushing its market capitalization close to 5.15 billion yuan, or about $766.3 million. The stock later retreated, closing the midday session at 30.88 yuan, up 4.54%, for a market capitalization of roughly 4.82 billion yuan, or $716.7 million. The poster carried the slogan, "Trim your nails well, touch wherever you want," which online users interpreted as a reference to the recent controversy involving Sun Yuchen and Jing Tian. Zhang Xiaoquan said the image was not official advertising and that neither its brand department nor other employees knew about its creation or distribution. The company said it would continue monitoring the matter and reserved the right to take legal action against parties responsible for infringement. Separately, the company reported first-half 2026 revenue of 557 million yuan, up 17.99% year on year, while net profit attributable to shareholders rose 26.14% to 34.69 million yuan. The episode follows a 45.65% five-session gain in April driven by speculation that its industrial scissors had entered high-end manufacturing supply chains, a claim the company denied.
