Turkey’s trade deficit widened to $7.34 billion in July 2026 from $6.46 billion a year earlier, broadly matching preliminary data. China was the largest source of imports, while Germany led Turkey’s export destinations. In the first seven months, imports rose 4.7% to $222.09 billion, exports increased 3.4% to $161.54 billion, and the cumulative trade deficit widened to $60.55 billion from $55.92 billion a year earlier, underscoring continued pressure from Turkey’s external imbalance, high inflation, currency weakness and import costs.
