Vice Minister for Land and Infrastructure Kim Yi-tak and Prime Minister Han Seong-sook separately urged faster housing development and stronger support during visits to Namyangju and Seoul redevelopment sites. Kim visited Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, on August 28, where the 21,700-household Namyangju Downtown Project and the 80,000-household Wangsuk first and second districts are planned or under construction as part of the Third-Phase New Towns. Han visited Jangwi 14 District in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, on the 29th and pledged expanded financial and policy support, including expedited relocation funds, as the government targets more than 230,000 additional homes across the Seoul metropolitan area. Both officials emphasized coordination with local governments, removal of project obstacles, and attention to safety, quality, fairness and residents’ living conditions.
