Hanwha Investment & Securities has reorganized its virtual asset investment operations and opened a San Francisco office as it broadens its digital asset business. The former Global Network Team is now the Synergy Investment Team, which handles investment sourcing, due diligence, deal structuring, valuation, contract execution and strategic cooperation with portfolio companies. The brokerage is developing a digital asset platform, or DAP, designed to connect real-world asset tokenization, on-chain distribution and collateralized financing, with a global-market launch planned for 2027 before expansion in South Korea as regulations develop. Its investments include Digital Asset, operator of the Canton Network; tokenized securities issuer Securitize; Web3 infrastructure company Chryseus; South Korean on-chain analytics firm CrossAngle; and Dunamu, whose stake has risen to 9.84%. The company also uses its wholly owned Singapore unit, Pinetree Securities, to build overseas partnerships and institutional networks. The expansion is intended to establish a digital asset ecosystem and secure a new growth engine. Second-quarter operating profit rose 47.4% year on year to 55.6 billion won, while net profit fell 7.8% to 27 billion won; first-half operating profit was 85.3 billion won and net profit declined 30.6% to 46.2 billion won.
