Didi Global expects to invest more than $200 million in Argentina this year to expand into smaller cities and develop safety technology, its Argentina country manager said. The company operates in more than 350 locations and expects drivers using its app to rise 25% this year to more than 500,000, with a further increase of at least 10% in 2027. Didi is extending services such as Didi Moto, which provides low-cost motorcycle rides, and last-mile transportation that connects with public transit. It invested $160 million in Argentina in 2025 and has completed about 130 million trips there in 2026. Rival Uber, which leads Argentina's ride-hailing market, plans to invest $500 million over three years, according to Economy Minister Luis Caputo. Didi also introduced mapping and AI-model upgrades in August and reported a second-quarter profit of $129 million after a first-quarter loss of $177 million.
