Ireland’s national police, An Garda Síochána, froze two cryptocurrency accounts worth about $900,000 during an operation targeting organized criminal activity in the Galway area. Officers also froze a bank account containing €25,000, or about $29,100, seized €9,300 in cash and confiscated drugs valued at about €18,300, including amphetamine and cannabis. A man in his 40s was arrested and charged, and the investigation remains ongoing.
