Amazon has finalized long-term electricity procurement contracts with four Swedish wind energy facilities, securing approximately 200 megawatts of additional power capacity for its operations. Once the projects are fully operational, Amazon’s total electricity supply capacity in Sweden will exceed 1 gigawatt. Renewable energy developers Eolus AB and OX2 AB are constructing the facilities, while private equity company EQT AB owns OX2. The agreements support Amazon’s continued expansion of data centre infrastructure in Sweden amid rising demand for cloud services and computing resources. Amazon confirmed the arrangements by email to Bloomberg, which reported them on Friday, August 28, 2026. The companies have not disclosed the financial terms, individual project capacities or target operating dates.
