Stellar's tokenized real-world asset market grew from roughly $800 million in January to over $3 billion by July 2026, but many assets lacked reliable onchain pricing for use in DeFi (decentralized finance). RedStone has addressed that bottleneck for Avant Protocol's savUSD by launching a contract-rate feed for the savUSD/avUSD exchange rate on Stellar. The feed follows the network's SEP-40 oracle standard and provides continuously available NAV (net asset value) data to smart contracts running on Stellar's Soroban execution environment. SavUSD is a senior-tranche token backed 1:1 by USDC and USDT collateral that earns returns through delta-neutral trading strategies. Weekly NAV calculations by Pennyworks complement RedStone's continuous feed. RedStone says its existing feeds have recorded no mispricing events. The broader SEP-40 rollout began in March 2026, with six additional issuers expected to receive comparable support by August, potentially widening the range of assets that Stellar DeFi protocols can use as collateral, in lending, and in automated portfolio strategies.
