Strategy shares fell $10.09, or 7.34%, to $127.31 on Friday after briefly reaching $135.97, reversing part of Thursday’s rally that had lifted the stock to its highest level in roughly three months. MSTR had risen from $92.52 on Aug. 18 to Thursday’s intraday high of $139.78 as Bitcoin approached $80,000, but Bitcoin then retreated about 3% on Friday. Trading volume exceeded 44 million shares Thursday and 31 million Friday. The stock remained above its 20-day and 50-day moving averages but below its 200-day average near $142, while relative-strength readings entered overbought territory. Strategy holds 840,447 BTC and raised about $2.01 billion through the sale of 18.26 million Class A shares between Aug. 17 and Aug. 23. It directed funds toward preferred-stock repurchases, dollar reserves and cash rather than buying more Bitcoin. The company has also paused Bitcoin sales for two consecutive reporting weeks after disposing of 6,948 BTC for about $432.5 million between late May and early August. Bitfinex said concerns about further disposals were receding, though dilution, Bitcoin weakness and preferred-stock obligations remain risks. Traders are watching whether MSTR can reclaim $135 to $140 and whether Strategy resumes Bitcoin accumulation during 2026.
