The Colorado Rapids traded forward Dante Sealy back to CF Montreal on Friday for up to $1.7 million in general allocation money, an MLS roster-building fund. Colorado will receive $400,000 in 2026 and $1 million in 2027, with up to $300,000 more available if Sealy meets specified performance metrics. Sealy joined Colorado from Montreal before the 2026 season and produced one goal and six assists in 23 matches across all competitions. The 23-year-old has 11 goals and eight assists in 88 MLS regular-season matches, including 54 starts, for FC Dallas, Montreal and Colorado. Rapids president Padraig Smith thanked Sealy and wished him well, while Montreal executive Luca Saputo said the player’s familiarity with the club and its culture should support a quick return and contribution.
