Lighter, a zero-knowledge rollup-based decentralized exchange on Ethereum Layer 2, has expanded its partnership with Chainlink to cover more than 125 markets across asset classes and regions. The January 2026 expansion adds Chainlink’s 24/5 US Equities Streams, extending low-latency equity pricing to perpetual futures traders when the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq are closed, while excluding weekends. Chainlink Data Streams was designated Lighter’s official oracle solution for real-world asset derivatives in November 2025, initially covering commodities, equities and foreign exchange. The feeds support liquidations, margin calculations, and conditional or limit orders that require real-time prices. The integration is particularly important for assets such as stocks and gold futures, whose reference prices do not originate from on-chain markets. Lighter combines the data infrastructure with a verifiable order-book system and zero-knowledge rollup technology, allowing trade executions to be cryptographically proven and designed to resist operator reordering or censorship. CEO Vladimir Novakovski discussed the partnership’s importance at SmartCon 2025, framing it as central to scaling Lighter’s real-world asset derivatives offering while maintaining data integrity. Lighter claims hundreds of thousands of users as of early 2026.
