Chinese memory-chip manufacturer ChangXin Memory Technologies, known as CXMT, has sued the U.S. Defense Department in federal court, seeking removal from a blacklist. The company says its chips are designed for civilian and commercial applications rather than military use and that it was wrongly included. CXMT said its reputation and commercial interests have suffered since it was first placed on the list in January 2025. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is named as a defendant. The Defense Department said it does not comment on undecided or ongoing litigation under its policy.
