INTERPOL has published the results of Operation Jackal IV, an eight-month campaign conducted from November 2025 through June 2026 across 22 countries on six continents. Authorities arrested 58 people and identified 263 suspects linked to West African organized crime networks involved in romance scams, fake cryptocurrency investments, business email fraud and money laundering. South African authorities arrested 39 people in Johannesburg, seized $2.67 million and blocked 257 bank accounts. Argentina reported 17 arrests and identified 196 people connected to a crime-as-a-service network. Romanian police arrested 11 suspects in a call-center investment scheme that allegedly moved about €143 million, seizing cash, cryptocurrency, six properties and luxury watches. INTERPOL’s release separately lists 17 arrests in Argentina, 39 in South Africa and 11 in Romania, producing a country-level total of 67 that does not match the stated headline figure of 58. The agency did not clarify the discrepancy. The operation also involved investigations in Italy and cooperation with authorities including those in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria.
