Mansfield Oil Company has sued New Jersey businessman Syed Kazmi and KRSM Inc., alleging the company obtained more than 1.1 million gallons of gasoline worth about $4 million from a Pennsylvania terminal between May and July without paying. The complaint, filed Aug. 19 in federal court, says some of the fuel was sold to stations in the Freedom Fuel Network, which is not named as a defendant and is not accused of wrongdoing. A judge on Aug. 28 partially granted Mansfield’s request for a preliminary injunction and ordered the defendants to maintain at least $2.75 million in a bank account. Freedom Fuel drew national attention after President Donald Trump praised its $3.47-per-gallon prices at 25 Pennsylvania and New Jersey stations in early July. KRSM’s legal representative, Mauro Tucci, said the dispute concerns allegedly mis-priced invoices, while the White House said the administration had no contact or dealings with the defendants.
