AI agents are beginning to hold wallets and transact, but financial institutions lack a standard way to identify machine counterparties and assign accountability. Solowin Holdings, a Hong Kong company listed on Nasdaq under AXG, signed an April memorandum with SC Ventures, Standard Chartered's venture arm, to incubate AGENPAY, while its Know-Your-Agent product is designed as a compliance engine for verifiable machine identities. Animoca Brands co-founder and executive chairman Yat Siu estimated that 50 billion to 100 billion AI agents could eventually transact online and said crypto wallets may be better suited than bank accounts for machine payments. Solowin's Bahrain subsidiary received a central-bank license in June to issue stablecoins, although the coin has not launched.
