CJ Logistics will accelerate overseas expansion in the second half while shifting its focus from revenue growth to profitability. CEO Shin Young-soo reviewed first-half results and outlined the strategy at a town hall meeting held on the 27th at the company’s Seoul headquarters, which CJ Logistics said on the 30th. Parcel delivery volumes and fulfillment revenue grew by double digits in the first half, while productivity and cost competitiveness also improved. Second-quarter revenue rose 10.9% from a year earlier to 3.38 trillion won ($2.5 billion), but operating profit fell 11.9% to 101.6 billion won. The company plans to invest in strategic markets including the United States and India and strengthen competitiveness across the logistics chain.
