Trader DonAlt has shifted attention from XRP to Ethereum, describing ETH’s daily chart as one of crypto’s cleanest setups and highlighting consolidation above the $2,400 breakout area. A newer update reported ETH up 2.25% at $2,471.16 after a 32.8% August gain, while technical levels cited support at $2,247.57 and resistance near $2,783.71. DonAlt identified approximately $2,816 as the next resistance above the $2,460 area, making the ability to hold key support central to the breakout thesis. Ethereum traded around $2,455-$2,460 on Aug. 30 after remaining above $2,400 despite a 2.7% decline on Aug. 28, and had gained roughly 30% from its mid-August level near $1,880. DonAlt began publicly building an ETH position around Aug. 13 at approximately $1,878. Coinpaper tracked Ethereum’s move through $2,400 alongside $220.77 million in U.S. spot ETF inflows, linking the technical advance with institutional demand. The newer update also reported that a large whale moved over 102,000, but the supplied account did not specify the asset or destination. DonAlt is widely associated with XRP after identifying its late-2024 breakout below $1 and mapping levels near $1.20, $2.90 and eventually $6.90. XRP later reached about $3.66 in July 2025, although DonAlt said his original thesis had largely run its course. XRP subsequently rose 43.7% over seven days through Aug. 26 before retreating to around $1.39 from an Aug. 22 intraday high near $1.70. U.S. spot XRP ETFs attracted $110.49 million in the week ending Aug. 28, the strongest weekly inflow of 2026, taking cumulative inflows to roughly $1.66 billion, while 21Shares’ TOXR product neared $150 million in assets.
