U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $201.9 million in net outflows on Aug. 28, ending a nine-day inflow streak and reducing cumulative net inflows to about $55.1 billion. The funds held roughly $93.9 billion in total net assets. The reversal followed an eight-day run that brought in $2.8 billion as Bitcoin tested $80,000, with daily inflows repeatedly exceeding $300 million and topping $600 million on Aug. 20. Ethereum ETFs moved in the opposite direction, recording $102.1 million in net inflows on Aug. 28 and extending their streak to 10 sessions. Their cumulative net inflows reached about $12.9 billion, against $13.8 billion in total net assets. The divergent flows came as Bitcoin fell after Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh made hawkish remarks at Jackson Hole, although the token later recovered to around $79,000 over the weekend. Spot Bitcoin ETFs hold the underlying asset and give investors indirect exposure through shares traded on stock exchanges. The single-day withdrawal remains modest compared with the funds' cumulative assets and inflows.
