Silver rose 1.11% to $66.788 an ounce, while gold gained 0.13% to $4,453.38, according to Gate data reported by Odaily Planet Daily. In a separate early Asian trading snapshot, spot gold was up 0.1% at $4,453.66 a troy ounce. OCBC Group Research said softer U.S. data, easing yields, a less consistently strong dollar and central-bank demand were supporting gold, while persistent supply constraints supported silver. WTI crude rose 0.43% to $87.13 a barrel and Brent crude gained 0.25% to $92.70. European equities were mixed and the dollar strengthened slightly against the offshore yuan and yen. OCBC said Fed chief Warsh's Jackson Hole speech could temporarily limit gold's near-term upside because of rate-hike concerns without materially changing the broader outlook.
