Hanmi Science, the holding company of Hanmi Group, and Megazone, South Korea’s largest cloud and AI company, signed a memorandum of understanding on Aug. 26 to jointly advance AI Transformation, or AX, across the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. The agreement, announced Aug. 31, combines Hanmi Science’s sector expertise with Megazone’s AI and cloud capabilities to develop operational innovations tailored to industry regulations and working practices rather than relying only on generic AI tools. The companies will identify AX initiatives, strengthen digital transformation capabilities and pursue new AI and digital projects through a working-level consultative body. Hanmi Science has also launched the Hanmi AI Boost Program across its affiliates, including Hanmi Pharmaceutical, to identify use cases. The MOU sets a cooperation framework rather than a binding contract, making execution of initiatives developed by the consultative body key to its eventual results.
