Australia’s private-sector credit growth slowed to 0.6% month over month in July 2026, its weakest pace since February, after reaching a six-month high of 0.8% in June. Housing credit, which represents 62% of total private credit, rose 0.5%, with investor credit growth easing to 0.5% from 0.8% while owner-occupier credit remained at 0.5%. Business credit, accounting for 34% of total private credit, increased 0.9%, down from 1.1% in June. Other personal credit, the remaining 4%, grew 0.3%, compared with 0.9% previously.
