Korea Securities Finance Corporation launched the mobile-only Jeunggeum Maeil Moa Account on Aug. 31, offering a flat pre-tax annual interest rate of 2.96% as of Aug. 27, 2026, without performance requirements or preferential conditions. The demand deposit compounds interest daily, allows instant online opening through the Securities Finance Banking+ app and waives transfer fees. Under the Depositor Protection Act, principal and interest combined are protected up to 100 million won per person by the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation. The company also introduced Walk Plus, an event running from Aug. 31, 2026, through Feb. 28, 2027. Customers who open the account, deposit at least 50,000 won, walk 8,000 steps in a day and press the app's Receive button can earn 100 points daily, with accumulated points convertible to cash. Korea Securities Finance Corporation said the product targets demand for short-term idle-fund management as competition among securities firms, savings banks and fintech companies intensifies. The rate may change with future market movements, so customers are advised to confirm the applicable rate before signing up.
