Slovenia’s annual inflation rate increased to 3.0% in August 2026 from 2.9% in July. The main upward pressures came from housing and utilities, where inflation accelerated to 8.1% from 7.3%, and transport, which rose to 4.7% from 2.6%. Inflation for insurance and financial services also increased, reaching 3.8% from 2.9%. Price growth slowed for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, clothing and footwear, furnishings, health, information and communication, and recreation, sport and culture. Food prices fell 1.0%, compared with a 0.4% decline in July. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.1%, reversing a 0.1% decrease in the previous month.
