The union proposes a robotaxi impact fee of roughly 50 cents to $1 per ride to fund driver training, grants and other transition assistance, and seeks deployment limits and a ban on robotaxi pickups at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Waymo now averages roughly 500,000 paid rides weekly across 11 metropolitan areas, while Amazon-owned Zoox has begun paid Las Vegas service and received approval to deploy up to 2,500 purpose-built robotaxis annually for two years. Waymo, Zoox and Tesla are expanding distinct autonomous-vehicle models, but Waymo and Zoox have not disclosed whether their operations are profitable.
