Bitcoin analyst Willy Woo said roughly 5% of the world’s population owns Bitcoin, exceeding his estimates of 4% for the S&P 500 and 4.5% for gold. Using adoption surveys, Glassnode on-chain data, Crypto.com reports and an S-curve model, Woo estimated global Bitcoin ownership at 4.5% to 6%, or about 370 million to 500 million people. India had the largest estimated holder base at 68 million, while Vietnam recorded the highest ownership rate at 17%; the U.S. had 50 million holders, or 14% of its population, and China had 33 million despite its cryptocurrency trading and mining ban. Woo said Bitcoin remains primarily a financial asset at current adoption levels, while 50% adoption could represent a separation of money and state. Bitcoin traded at $77,438.44, down 1.47% over 24 hours, according to Benzinga Pro.
