OpenAI plans to wind down Cursor’s access to its AI models on Nov. 12, 2026, including access to future models such as Astra, citing concerns that SpaceX may not comply with its terms of service. SpaceX completed its $60 billion acquisition of Cursor parent Anysphere on Aug. 14. Cursor co-founder Michael Truell said OpenAI models account for 5% of Cursor traffic and that the companies are discussing a resolution, while Elon Musk said he could not care less about the cutoff. The dispute is part of Musk’s broader legal and public conflict with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. SpaceX stock rose in early trading despite the development. Separately, NASA and SpaceX delayed the Crew-13 mission to the International Space Station after detecting an oxidizer leak in the Dragon spacecraft’s propulsion system; the original launch target was Sept. 12 and no replacement date has been set.
