Etherscan announced its Build with AI suite on Aug. 31, 2026, giving AI agents and coding assistants including Claude, ChatGPT and Codex access to verified, live blockchain data across more than 60 EVM-compatible networks. The release includes a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, a command-line interface and installable agent skills. The MCP server at mcp.etherscan.io/mcp exposes 20 read-only tools for balances, transactions, contract details, gas prices and event logs through one connection, while the CLI returns JSON by default with table and CSV options. Four listed skills cover address-flow tracing, contract review, transaction debugging and task routing. The tools use standard Etherscan API keys, remain subject to normal quotas and rate limits, and are designed to reduce fabricated balances and nonexistent transactions. Etherscan also warned users that only its official MCP server is legitimate and advised against entering API keys into unaffiliated marketplace listings. The launch comes as machine-generated web traffic expands: Cloudflare Radar data cited in the report put agentic bots at 57.4% of traffic versus 42.6% for humans, with bots accounting for more than 35% over the past four weeks.
