Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX), commonly known as SpaceX, ended August at $143.49, up 32% from the month’s lows near $108. The recovery restored an estimated $450 billion to $500 billion in market value, although the stock remained roughly $1 trillion below its $2.9 trillion peak reached June 16, shortly after the company’s record-setting $75 billion IPO. The rally accelerated after a 911 million-share lock-up expiry on Aug. 6 failed to trigger the anticipated sell-off. Second-quarter revenue rose 92% year over year to $7.81 billion, while disclosures from NVIDIA Corp., Alphabet Inc., Harvard University and Advanced Micro Devices highlighted institutional interest. Further share releases, including roughly 700 million shares per month through October, will test whether the rebound can continue despite a valuation of about 66 times sales.
