Phil Schiller has stepped down from operational oversight of Apple's App Store and product launch events but will remain with the company as an Apple Fellow. The move comes as Tim Cook departs as Chief Executive Officer and John Ternus takes the reins, while Apple manages a series of senior executive exits. App Store operations will shift to Carson Oliver, and the marketplace is moving from Apple's marketing department to the services division led by Eddy Cue. Schiller joined Apple in 1987, took over the App Store in 2015 and guided the company through its legal dispute with Epic Games over in-app payment rules. Apple was largely successful in the case, although it was ordered to allow developers to link to external payment options, and the legal fight continues. Other departures include former chief operating officer Jeff Williams, Vice President for Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson, general counsel Kate Adams, Apple Pay chief Jennifer Bailey and Vision Pro executive Paul Meade.
