OpenSea restored Solana NFT trading on its OS2 platform on August 31, 2026, four years after a limited beta it later discontinued, bringing Solana into a marketplace that already spans more than 25 blockchains and has recorded more than $48.9 billion in cumulative volume. Four collections went live at launch—Claynosaurz, Mad Lads, Collector Crypt, and Phygitals—with more expected later without a confirmed timeline. The move also widens access to Solana’s emerging exotic real-world-asset collectibles, including trading-card games, watches, and other physical-linked items, a vertical where platforms such as Collector Crypt have seen rising demand. Claynosaurz is a 3D animated dinosaur set that debuted on Solana in November 2022; Mad Lads is a roughly 10,000-piece collection launched in April 2023 by Backpack. OpenSea’s OS2 release in May 2025 provided fungible-token trading across 19 chains, including Solana after April 2025 token support, so the NFT rollout completes full Solana coverage and lets collectors trade without switching wallets or venues. The addition increases catalog overlap with Magic Eden and Tensor. The original April 2022 Metaplex-built beta covered about 165 collections before shutdown. OS2 left beta in May 2025 with 467,322 monthly active addresses that month, up 44%, and about $81 million in volume. A SEA token teased in February 2025 and once aimed at a first-quarter 2026 launch remains delayed on market conditions, drawing user frustration over prolonged waits and ongoing activity campaigns.
