MiniMax has released H3 Max on its open platform and MiniMax Design, marking the first reported instance in which AI video generation exceeds real-time playback speed. A complete five-second, 768p video with audio can be produced in under three seconds, allowing a system to generate new material while an earlier segment is playing. Post-trained and inference-optimized by AI cloud provider fal from MiniMax H3 open weights, H3 Max supports text-to-video and image-to-video generation in 480p or 768p, with audio, 24 frames per second and durations of five to 15 seconds. fal said the model generates a 15-second video in about 15 seconds, with throughput around 35 times that of MiniMax's official H3 endpoint, while Hailuo.ai takes about two minutes for the same content. The capability has already been used in Twitch live streams and integrated by Magnific. fal is charging $0.08 per second for 768p generation through September 1, compared with $0.30 per second for Seedance2.0 with audio.
