Tether’s USA₮ stablecoin remained above $175 million in circulation for a second consecutive month, although its supply declined from 176.79 million tokens on June 30 to 175.25 million on July 31. Anchorage Digital Bank, the federally chartered institution that issues and custodies USA₮, reported $175.91 million in reserves, leaving a surplus of roughly $660,000, or $661,079 based on the report’s precise figures. The reserves consisted of U.S. dollar cash and reverse repurchase agreements secured by U.S. Treasuries, held in segregated fiduciary accounts under American Institute of Certified Public Accountants stablecoin criteria. USA₮ launched on Jan. 27 and reached about 140.85 million tokens by April 30, when its reserve surplus was $327,000. The July report places the token within Tether’s U.S.-focused, regulated stablecoin strategy under the GENIUS Act, while its much larger USDT product remains the company’s globally dominant trading and payments token. Monthly attestations from a federally chartered bank are intended to provide institutions with greater visibility into USA₮’s backing as Tether targets payments, settlement and treasury-management use cases.
