Amazon shares fell 2.06% to $254.41 after retreating sharply from $259.77, bringing the stock near chart support at $252.50. Resistance levels were identified near $255 and $257.50. The decline followed a 2.3% reduction in Capital Investment Services of America's Amazon position, although the sale represented a small change in one institutional holding rather than a broad ownership shift. Amazon reported $200.6 billion in quarterly revenue, AWS revenue of $42.2 billion, up 36.7% year over year, and quarterly EPS of $5.75 versus the cited analyst estimate of $1.82. AWS growth accelerated for a fifth consecutive quarter, with backlog at $496 billion, an annualized revenue run rate of about $169 billion and operating income of $16.6 billion. Amazon's custom-chip and AI-related businesses each exceeded $25 billion in annualized revenue, while advertising revenue rose 26% to $19.8 billion. The results continue to support heavy investment in data centers, chips, automation and cloud capacity, alongside fulfillment improvements and planned expansion of Amazon's robotic-arm fleet.
