Defense News ranked five Turkish companies in its 2025 Top 100 and four South Korean companies in its 2026 ranking, while FnGuide forecasts that the four major South Korean contractors will generate combined 2025 sales of 49.76 trillion won, up 22.7% from 40.55 trillion won. Hanwha ranked 16th with $10.43763 billion in 2025 defense revenue, more than 50% above 2024, and South Korea’s four contractors held a combined order backlog of 98.46 trillion won at the end of June. Their first-half research and development spending reached 1.05 trillion won as they expanded hiring, facilities and production capacity for exports and next-generation technologies. Turkey’s five ranked companies generated $14.9 billion in combined defense revenue, led by ASELSAN at 40th with $4.46 billion, while ARCA debuted at 53rd after revenue rose 4.6 times to $3 billion. Executives from ASELSAN, Turkish Aerospace Industries, ARCA Defense, ROKETSAN and MKE serve on the board of SAHA Istanbul, Europe’s largest industrial cluster, linking the primes with more than 1,300 small- and medium-sized enterprises, and the SAHA Expo helped facilitate export contracts worth about $4.5 billion in 2024 and $8 billion in 2026. Hanwha Aerospace, which now includes Hanwha Ocean, reported record 2025 revenue of 26.7 trillion won, and the Korea Fair Trade Commission approved Hanwha’s acquisition of a 15.89% stake in Korea Aerospace Industries, or KAI.
