Franklin Templeton appointed Kim In-keun, a former executive at Western Asset Management's Singapore unit, as president and chief executive of its Korean business on the 1st. Kim will lead Franklin Templeton Investment Advisors, the firm's Korean entity, overseeing strategy and operations while strengthening ties with Asia-Pacific management and using the group's global investment capabilities to serve institutional clients and expand locally. Kim has more than 27 years of asset-management experience and previously worked at the Bank of Korea and BlackRock. He succeeds Kim Tae-hee, who led the Korean business during a career of about two decades at Franklin Templeton. Daniel Gamba, co-president and chief commercial officer at Franklin Templeton, described Korea as a core pillar of the firm's Asia-Pacific business and a strategically important market.
