South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance will impose antidumping duties of 8.32% to 19.17% on Chinese butyl acrylate imports after a Korea Trade Commission investigation concluded that low-priced imports harmed the domestic industry. The duties will take effect on Sept. 28 and remain in force through Sept. 27, 2031. The investigation began in September 2025 after a complaint from LG Chem. South Korea’s butyl acrylate market was valued at about 100 billion won ($73 million) in 2024, with Chinese products accounting for 47%. Butyl acrylate is used in paints, coatings, adhesives, plastics and textiles.
