LS ELECTRIC signed a memorandum of understanding with KT Cloud on the 2nd at LS Yongsan Tower in Seoul to build a strategic partnership focused on artificial intelligence data centers. The companies will cooperate on power-equipment design and supply, exchange next-generation technologies and jointly research core power solutions for modular data centers from the initial design stage. LS ELECTRIC plans to supply ultra-high-voltage transformers, gas-insulated switchgear, switchboards, uninterruptible power supply units and air-conditioning systems for new AI data centers being built by KT Cloud. Modular facilities use factory-built server rooms, power networks and cooling modules that are assembled on site, shortening construction time and easing expansion compared with conventional reinforced-concrete buildings. LS ELECTRIC also supplies transformers and high-voltage distribution systems for hyperscale AI data centers being developed by major North American technology companies.
