Iole completed its planned ¥100 million acquisition of HYPE, the native token of Hyperliquid, an on-chain derivatives platform offering perpetual futures and other products. The company purchased approximately 8,709.57 HYPE for ¥89,915,336 between July 30 and Aug. 31, 2026, at an average price of about ¥10,323.74 per token. Including its initial July 28 purchase, cumulative holdings reached approximately 9,787.82 HYPE at an average acquisition price of about ¥10,217. Iole said the purchases support its Neo Crypto Bank concept, which aims to connect wallets and payments with lending and DeFi, and described HYPE as compatible with ecosystems where AI agents execute transactions autonomously. The company will mark its HYPE holdings to market quarterly and reflect gains or losses in income, while continuing to assess further digital-asset purchases. On Sept. 1, Iole also disclosed that it had joined the Japan Cryptoasset Business Association as an associate member to participate in discussions on cryptoasset regulations, accounting standards and tax frameworks.
