Hana Securities hosted VIP clients of Hong Kong-based Futu Securities in South Korea from the 26th to the 28th of last month for its three-day Discover Korea event. The program introduced overseas investors to growth strategies at major Korean companies and provided market perspectives from local capital-market experts. Participants met executives from Amorepacific, JYP Entertainment, Hyundai Motor, Hana Financial Group, Hanwha Ocean, LG Energy Solution and SK, covering beauty, entertainment, automobiles, finance, shipbuilding and secondary batteries. Hana Securities said its partnerships with overseas brokerages have attracted more than 1 trillion won, or approximately $730.9 million, in net foreign buying into South Korean equities. Its integrated account service allows overseas investors to invest directly in the Korean market without opening a separate domestic account. The service began with Hong Kong's Emperor Securities in October last year and expanded this year to Japan's Capital Partners Securities and Hong Kong's Futu Securities. Hana Securities plans to add Hong Kong's Citic Securities and U.S.-based Wedbush Securities.
