Félix, the Miami-based startup also known as Felix Pago, has raised $200 million in a package that values the company at $1.4 billion and supports an expansion from WhatsApp remittances into lending and savings. Andreessen Horowitz led an $87 million Series C equity round with QED Investors, Castle Island Ventures, Switch Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, and Endeavor Catalyst, while General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund supplied a $113 million credit facility structured specifically around a planned lending product. The valuation is nearly three times the $484.5 million level after a $75 million Series B in 2024, bringing total capital raised since the 2020 founding by Manuel Godoy and Bernardo García to close to $300 million. Félix lets Latin American immigrants in the United States send money home through WhatsApp via a conversational interface; customers do not handle crypto wallets, while the company settles transfers in USDC and converts funds to local currency through payout partners. It says it has processed more than $8 billion for over six million users across 11 markets including Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, and Peru, with revenue up 2.5-fold over the past year. Latin America and the Caribbean received $173.7 billion in remittances in 2025, yet the average cost of sending $200 remains 6.36%, more than double the United Nations’ 3% target. A new U.S. 1% federal excise tax on cash-funded international transfers, with digital transfers exempt, favors app-based rails, even as Western Union has begun offering stablecoin-linked products of its own.
