HS Hwaseong has been selected as builder for the 95-unit Bichi Town small-scale housing redevelopment project in Daechi-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul. The company announced the selection on the 2nd following a general meeting held on the 29th of last month. The 4,497.9-square-meter site near 951-1 Daechi-dong will accommodate two residential buildings stretching from seven basement levels to 18 floors above ground. Construction costs are estimated at 129.6 billion won, or about $94 million. HS Hwaseong plans to brand the complex Samseong Station EHCRA, making it the third development to carry its premium EHCRA name after projects in Jamwon Hanshin Town in Seocho District and Shinsung Yeonlip in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong District, secured last year. The site is in Daechi-dong’s prominent school and private-academy district, near Whimoon High School, Dankook University High School and Sookmyung Girls’ High School. Samseong and Seolleung stations on Seoul Subway Line 2, Hanti Station on the Suin-Bundang Line, COEX and Hyundai Department Store’s Trade Center branch are also accessible on foot or by public transit. HS Hwaseong said it will emphasize distinctive exterior design, premium community facilities and specialized floor plans. The project adds a prime Gangnam location to the company’s redevelopment portfolio in Seoul and the wider metropolitan area, although construction-contract signing, approvals, relocation, demolition and project financing remain before work can proceed.
