Doug Liman’s $70 million film Bitcoin has entered post-production after principal photography began in February 2026. The project stars Gal Gadot, Casey Affleck, Pete Davidson and Isla Fisher, uses artificial intelligence to create sets and lighting, and follows a story centered on Bitcoin’s pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Its apparent portrayal of Craig Wright as Nakamoto has triggered concern among Bitcoin supporters, particularly after a U.K. court rejected Wright’s claim and a notice on his website later said he was not Nakamoto. Content creator Terence Michael said the film could present Wright’s position as established history and noted that, despite its budget and cast, it lacked a major domestic distributor as of his post. Calvin Ayre’s involvement has further fueled debate. No release date has been set.
