Bank of America vice president Erin Piacenti was fatally stabbed near Times Square on Monday during her first week back at work after five months of maternity leave. The 32-year-old attorney, who had recently bought a first home in New Jersey with her husband, was attacked on West 41st Street by Pamela Cisneros and died at a hospital. Another person was stabbed and survived. Police said the woman carried multiple knives and that officers shot her after a four-minute standoff. Piacenti was a 2016 University of Pennsylvania graduate and earned her law degree from Fordham Law School in 2021, where she met her husband. Bank of America and Fordham officials remembered her for her legal ability, warmth and generosity. Her death has drawn comparisons with the 2024 killing of Blackstone executive Wesley LePatner and the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. New York City police data showed major crime complaints down 6.2% and murders down 24.6% year-to-date compared with the same period in 2025.
