BlackRock clients added a reported 1,495 Bitcoin through the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), a transaction valued at roughly $115.45 million and averaging about $77,200 per coin. The figure differs from an earlier report that cited 1,404.5 BTC worth about $109.35 million, and execution, settlement and net-new flow details remain independently unconfirmed. IBIT has attracted roughly 75% of new capital entering U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs in recent months, including $1.33 billion during one week in August 2026 and $183.41 million on July 30/31, or 79% of that day’s industrywide flows. By late August, the fund managed approximately $59 billion in assets and had become the largest U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF by assets since launching in January 2024. BlackRock says purchases are made in response to client requests rather than proprietary trading, with pension funds, endowments and wealth managers using regulated vehicles for diversified exposure. IBIT’s 0.25% expense ratio and its concentration of industry inflows have supported its growth while raising operational, redemption and regulatory-concentration risks.
